Job Description

You have the opportunity to join a progressive, precision manufacturing in Birmingham. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be part of a growing company, working across the business assisting them in their current & new procedures as part of wider investmentinto this site. You will be involved in trialling new products and creating robust processes to bring new products into production.Client DetailsThis company is owned by a larger business, that is investing in this site & manufactures an array of products worldwide. A specialised business, they are proud of the customer base they have obtained over the years & aim to be at the forefront of engineering.As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a vital role in the growth of the business in the coming years.DescriptionYou will have the opportunity to join a successful team, as a Manufacturing Engineer, working for a specialist business.Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate procedures with the quality department to implement inspection techniques
  • Program the onsite 3 & 5 Axis Precision Machines
  • Discover, investigate, recommend, and implement new manufacturing processes, technologies, and equipment
  • Create the necessary technical documentation: routings, stage drawings nest plans, SOPs & CNC programs
  • Create production methods
  • Coordinate actions within the NPI process, ensuring parts are validated when handed to production
  • Support production methods and processes by designing inspection plans (Non-CMM)
  • Support quality investigations and route cause corrective action
ProfileThis role is suitable for a Manufacturing/Production Engineer, with a background in low volume, precision manufacturing. The successful applicant will also have the following:
  • Experience working in a CADCAM manufacturing environment (3 & 5 Axis Machine tool programming)
  • HND, Degree or equivalent in Engineering
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry
  • Working knowledge of CAD software (ideally SolidWorks)
  • Ideally, experience with nesting programmes
  • Ideally, experience in laser/water jet cutting
