We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Operative/Trainee Fitter, to work with a market leading company that specialise within the medical sector.Your main duties will be to work as a Manufacturing Operative in the warehouse. Manufacturing and assembling the product line as required. The main product produced are pleated medical curtains and rails that will be fitted in hospitals around the U.K. You will also be trained as a Reserve Fitter, providing sickness and holiday cover for the primary Fitter if and when needed. A company van will be provided and also an overnight allowance and expenses paid for any out of town work that you are required to undertake.This is a 3-month temp-to-perm opportunity. Once you have been taken on permanently after 3 months you will receive a pay rise and also be enrolled into the companys pension and shift allowance scheme.Manufacturing Duties" Running the Pleat and Hook machine to recognized procedures" Manufacture, packing and boxing of curtains according to detailed instructions, in preparation for courier or fitter collection as appropriate" To ensure products reworked online during the manufacturing process are segregated and meet all quality specifications" Clear labelling and identification of all products" Completion of all relevant batch / processing documentation as per training guides and product specifications and company procedures" To adhere to relevant hygiene and cleaning protocols at all times and assist in the maintenance of hygiene/cleanliness of the warehouse and associated production areas." Weekly random quality checks" Recycling and general waste managementGeneral Duties" Follow all work instructions and company procedures" Ensure the correct level of identification for components / completed products throughout all stages of manufacture and storage" Maintain safe and tidy working environment at all times, to prevent risk of accidents" Undertake any reasonable work activity that your line manager may requestAdditional responsibilities when trained" Fitter cover - provide professional high quality, reliable service to customers when carrying out new installations or completing curtain changes. Accuracy with paperwork essential. Physically fit to lift and carry boxes of curtains and able to, push and pull track into place." Warehouse cover - Basic IT skills to enable you to deal with daily orders. Able to maintain good stock control and physically fit to wrap pallets of goods and lift boxes of curtains.The hours of work are across 2 shifts. 07:00 - 15:00 and 12:00 - 20:00. Once taken on permanently you will receive a 20% shift allowance for any hours worked over 18:00.You will also be entitled to an out of town allowance of £30 per day for any overnight stays you may need to take whilst out fitting the curtains and rails into hospitals around the country.Pay rate starts at £9.30 per hour in line with the National Living Wage. Once you have passed a 3 month period, you will be given a pay review and your pay will be increased.This job can sometimes be very physical. Moving boxes that weigh up to 13kg, which is not too heavy, but the boxes can come and awkward and cumbersome shapes. The fitting aspect of this role can also be very demanding. You will be expected to fit 1 curtain per 15 minutes.
