Job Description

Management Accountant (Stock) | Birmingham (Hybrid 2/3 days in 2/3 days remote) | £40,000 - £45,000 plus car allowance, 25 days holiday, bonus, great staff discount, medical plan, free on-site parking and benefits | Retail & e-commerceDo you have excellent stock accounting experience gained within retail, consumer or manufacturingA truly exciting opportunity to join a leading, forward thinking and modern retail business, currently undergoing a period of rapid growth and expansion. This is a great place to work; energetic, vibrant and full of talented, like-minded people.About the roleThis role will play a key role within the finance team and take full ownership of stock accounting and stock management from a finance perspective across the business. Reporting into the Finance Manager this is a good entry point into the business for aqualified accountant wishing to push on in their career with multiple opportunities to step up into an FBP role or into Commercial Finance.Key responsibilities

  • The go-to person for stock accounting in the business. Including reconciliation with the ERP system.
  • The preparation of weekly, monthly and annual reporting for the business
  • Preparation of month end schedules
  • Work with the Finance Manager to develop linkages across all other departments to improve communication and support across the business
  • Take responsibility for the output of a number of key Profit and Loss Accounts
  • Take ownership for a number of critical Balance Sheet reconciliations including variance analysis , investigation and resolution
  • Support the continued optimisation of the new Oracle Finance system
  • Support for strategic initiatives
  • Business partnering a number of key stakeholders across both Finance (Accounts Payable and Commercial Finance) and outside of Finance (Retail, Property, Distribution, Trading etc)
  • Manage, Support and develop the Assistant management accountant
  • Deliver responses on any year end audit queries
  • Drive different ways of working to continuously improve
Management Accountant Person profile
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified
  • Retail, Consumer or Manufacturing experience essential
  • Management Accounting experience
  • Experience within a fast moving, change & transformation environment will be beneficial
  • Oracle Fusion
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
