Job Description

A leading steel product manufacturer supplying to clients globally are seeking a Maintenance Engineer for their operations in the West Bromwich area.You will assist the maintenance function in carrying out corrective and scheduled preventative maintenance to help reduce production down time.Some of your main responsibilities are listed below:

  • Provide maintenance support to any plant breakdowns on production machinery and equipment.
  • Adhere to the PPM schedule and reaction to breakdowns.
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical repairs on machinery including some PLC fault finding.
  • Typical machines to maintain on plant are presses, CNC lathes, millers, punch machines etc.
  • Manage contractors and assist any facilities maintenance projects on site.
I would be keen to receive applications from candidates who hold the following skills/experience;
  • A multi skilled maintenance background with experience of working in the steel manufacturing industry.
  • Have electrical and mechanical experience.
  • PLC fault finding experience.
  • Experience of maintenance on machines such as turret punches, presses, CNC lathes etc.
  • Hydraulics and Pneumatic expertise.
  • Fully conversant with reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
The company are based in West Bromwich so are commutable from Birmingham, Dudley, Kidderminster, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Bromsgrove.Shift times - Days - Monday - Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm Friday 7.30am to 1pm.The company offer an excellent, supportive and friendly working environment.
