Job Description

Due to new contract wins, we are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to work the PM Shift Monday to Friday for a global manufacturing company supplying the automotive sector primarily based in the Kings Norton area of Birmingham. This is apermanent position workingMonday-Friday2pm-10pm (1400-2200) with flexibility to work Saturday mornings if required with overtime paid. The Maintenance Engineersalary being offered is £40-42,000 per annum dependent on experience plus paid overtime@ x1.5 rate and excellent benefits as below!As Maintenance Engineer, this is a standalone role where you will be the only person on shift working in a clean continuous production environment with state of the art robotics! You will be responsible for all site maintenance including all machinery,factory equipment and facilities with the following duties:

  • Repair and service all factory machineryincluding robotics on the automated line
  • Participate in trouble shooting activities in respect to machine breakdowns/ malfunctions etc.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment and machinery
  • Undertake planned preventative/ predictive maintenance activities in accordance with the annual TPM schedule
  • Support the Manufacturing Team to ensure that the plant is performing effectively and efficiently to achieve the highest levels of ‘Right First Time’ performance
  • Work with external suppliers to obtain quotations for servicing, repairs & installation work
  • Provide training for Technicians and Manufacturing Staff (40 on shift) to enable them to engage in appropriate levels of TPM associated with their functions
  • Routine testing of Fire Alarm and Security Systems
  • Take an active role in Plant Safety Team
  • Attending Production Team Meetings
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
  • At least 5 years experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing/ production environment
  • You will be multi skilled with expertise in both electrical and mechanical maintenance (this role is 65/35 split)
  • Relative electrical wiring and installation qualification (18th edition or equivalent)
  • Good working knowledge of pneumatics, some hydraulics, conveyor systems and air handling units is required
  • Robotics knowledge would be advantageous but not essential
  • Manual Handling, Working at Heights, Access Platform (IPAF) certificate
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
