Job Description

Due to expansion, we are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to work on the PM Shift for a global manufacturing company supplying the automotive sector primarily based in Kings Norton area of Birmingham. This is apermanent position workingMonday-Friday2pm-10pm (1400-2200) offering a salary of approx £36-38,000 per annum dependent on experience plus excellent benefits!As Maintenance Engineer you will be the only person on shift responsible for all site maintenance including all machinery, factory equipment and facilities with the following duties:

  • Repair and service all factory machinery as and when required.
  • Participate in trouble shooting activities in respect to machine breakdowns/ malfunctions etc.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment and machinery as and when required.
  • Undertake planned preventative/ predictive maintenance activities in accordance with the annual TPM schedule.
  • Supporting the Manufacturing Team striving to ensure that the plant is performing effectively and efficiently to achieve the highest levels of ‘Right First Time’ performance.
  • Work with external suppliers to obtain quotations for servicing, repairs & installation work.
  • Provide training for Technicians and Manufacturing Staff (25 on shift) to enable them to engage in appropriate levels of TPM associated with their functions.
  • Routine testing of Fire Alarm and Security Systems.
  • Take an active role in Plant Safety Team.
  • Attending Production Team Meetings
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing/ production environment
  • You will be multi skilled with expertise in both electrical and mechanical maintenance
  • Trained to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area (i.e. performing engineering operations)
  • Good working knowledge of pneumatics, some hydraulics, conveyor systems and air handling units is required
  • Robotics knowledge would be advantageous but not essential
  • Manual Handling, Working at Heights, Access Platform (IPAF) certificate
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
