This is an exciting opportunity for a commercial lawyer who wishes to make a positive contribution to the charity sector, experience fresh challengesand make a real difference to the lives of people affected by dementia.You will provide legal advice and support on range of legal matters to internal clients and stakeholders across the Society. Additionally, you will provide pragmatic, timely, clear legal advice, guidance and support to team members and internal clients on allgeneral legal matters.The role will require you to work closely with business areas to understand their objectives and draft, review and amend contractual documentation in a manner that is proportionate to the scale and risk of the transaction and to ensure it is compliant withthe law, regulations and guidance as well as the Society’s internal policies and procedures.This is a homeworking role, but you will be required to travel to attend some meetings and team-days, so you must reside in the UK, have the correct right to work documents to work in the UK and be comfortable/willing to travel to our flagship offices (Londonor Birmingham) if/when required.Alzheimers Society have recently been named on theSunday Times Best Places to Work 2023!We have achieved excellent scores for workplace happiness, pride, and job satisfaction.   • While you may be allocated specific areas of the business to support or asked to focus on areas of legal specialism, you should have sufficiently broad understanding of commercial legal matters to be able to provide guidance and support across all areasof general law, particularly contracts.
  • Knowledge of charity and company law would be a desirable addition.
  • You will be a strong team player, with excellent interpersonal skills, able to manage your workload effectively.
  • You will have a positive, can-do attitude and be adept at understanding the needs of the business and helping to meet them.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
