Job Description

Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Birmingham (hybrid) - £60,000An opportunity has become available to join a Law firm based in Birmingham. This organisation is looking for someone that shows an aptitude to learning new skills, shows a keen interest in technology and is looking to excel in this role.Key skills and experience:

  • Leading a team of engineers, acting as a point of escalation, providing guidance and support as required
  • Active Directory and Group Policy
  • A clear understanding of cloud technologies and offerings from Azure
  • Liaising with internal and external partners, including user groups, technical IT consultants and project managers.
  • Citrix Xenapp 6.5
  • Improving the technical skills of more junior team members by providing mentorship and acting as a point of escalation for difficult issues.
  • Knowledge of VMWare
  • Manage site to site and personal VPNs
  • Actively participate in the Change Management Board meetings and manage change within the infrastructure team.
  • Interacts with suppliers, other support groups and users around specific work efforts, project time-scales and deliverables
  • A desire to research and be an expert in current technologies to remain technically capable
  • Experience with server virtualisation, Backup, Storage, Desktop, Network
  • Understanding of network routing, switching and load balancing technologies
  • Delivering infrastructure projects based on IT strategy
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong 0365 knowledge
  • Designing, implementing and supporting Cloud and hybrid workloads
  • Managing Firewalls with external partners
