Laboratory Technician Birmingham £31k Basic (Inclusive of Shift ) + Overtime Paid at 1.5 x Basic Rate at Weekends, Voluntary and Regularly Available.Working hours, Monday to Friday 06:00 to 14:00, 09:00 to 17:00, 14:00 to 22:00 and 22:00 to 06:00 on a Weekly Rotating 4 Week Cycle.This highly successful global manufacturer is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join a great team environment in this varied and challenging role.It is essential that applicants have proven experience within a laboratory technician capacity inside a manufacturing setting, exposure to heavier manufacturing industry environments will be advantageous to this post. Although all laboratory technicians withmetal testing experience within a manufacturing setting will be equally considered for the role. Working to strict customer led specifications and requirements the role will carry responsibility for identifying mechanical and chemical properties of products. This will cover hardness testing, tensile testing, grain size determination and spectrographicchemical analysis. This will all then be passed to the Senior Laboratory Technician who the role will also be answerable to on a daily basis. Additionally to the above you will generate certificates of conformity for products, carryout maintenance checks on lab equipment and carry out calibration to ensure test results are always accurate on customer products.
