Job Description

Laboratory Analyst - BirminghamBirmingham, West MidlandsOur client is currently looking for experienced individuals to join their team in Birmingham as Laboratory Analysts, assisting with the testing services at the Commonwealth Games. This role will be based at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.This position will be temporary, with the possibility of this going permanent. To support the Commonwealth Games contract these roles will work a shift pattern including day and night shifts (4 days on, 4 days off 7am - 7pm then 4 nights on, 4 nights off 7pm- 7am.)The Role:- Responsibility to operate testing labs at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham- Receipt and accession of COVID-19 samples for analysis- Routine use of analysers- Responsibility for the quality control and release of results on a range of instruments- The troubleshooting of COVID-19 customer queries and the provision of product information and advice- The development of a high degree of product knowledge covering COVID-19 products- Adherence to the companys Positive Work Environment Policies, health & safety procedures, and the maintenance of a safe working environmentThe Candidate:Essential:- A Bachelors degree or higher in a Biochemistry, Chemistry or Life Science related degree- Confidence in liaising with people via telephone, email, and in person- Previous laboratory experience- Fluency in EnglishDesirable:- Previous experience working in a COVID-19 Testing Laboratory- Previous experience in a customer support related positionAbout the Organisation:For almost 40 years our client has been at the forefront of clinical diagnostics, dedicated to improving health worldwide with their disruptive technology and innovative diagnostic solutions.
