Job Description

Your new roleThe Knowledge Manager is responsible for overseeing all knowledge-related activities, including the management, capturing, sharing and accessibility of knowledge assets. The Knowledge Manager is required to work alongside stakeholders (internal and external),to promote and optimise the usage of the organisations knowledge assets across the National Highways ecosystem. The Knowledge Manager will ensure all knowledge articles are created to agreed standards set by the knowledge management practice and will be responsiblefor ensuring all knowledge authors/owners adheres to the knowledge management policies and processes in terms of knowledge lifecycle to create, maintain and retire knowledge articles.What youll be leading on

  • Responsible for the overarching knowledge management practice, ensuring all knowledge authors/owners identified understand the responsibility of a knowledge owner (internal and external) and monitors the quality, accuracy and relevance of each publish knowledgearticle.
  • Ensure all knowledge is written in suitable language of the target audience i.e. nontechnical jargon for business targeted knowledge.
  • Responsible for stakeholder management and information harvesting with knowledge authors/owners.
  • Take responsibility to identify knowledge gaps and work with stakeholders to identify suitable knowledge authors/owners.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and annual reports on knowledge health, utilisation and adherence to knowledge management governance.
  • Responsible for chairing knowledge review boards.
  • Develop National Highways definition of knowledge, and measurement of colleague experience using knowledge, and adoption of knowledge across the National Highways ecosystem, supporting a self-enabling environment.
To be successful
  • The Knowledge Manager must demonstrate strong stakeholder management and relationship attributes to identify knowledge gaps and ensure knowledge is created by knowledge authors/owners to mitigate gaps in knowledge across National Highways. The KnowledgeManager will engage with OSD&T to support knowledge harvesting for new to onboard services, and NH change management to support knowledge updates to changed/retired configuration items and business services.
  • The Knowledge Manager will possess soft skills such as great leadership, effective communication, problem-solving, coaching and teamwork skills. These skills will aid in promoting a culture of knowledge-sharing that is enabled through guidance and learning.As the Knowledge Manager, you will require an understanding of the Service Knowledge Management System (ServiceNow) features, functionality.
