IT Senior Security Analyst - Immediately Required Duration: 10 month contractLocation: BirminghamHours: Full time - 9am-5pmPay Rate: £17.98 per hour (Inclusive of holiday pay)An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Senior Security Analyst to assist the IT Services of a reputable public sector organisation in Birmingham.The successful candidate will be responsible for:- Supporting the implementation of controls to maintain the safety, confidentiality, integrity, availability and security of the organisations IT infrastructure and systems along with the protection of organisation and patient data, both stored and processedby infrastructure or applications managed internally- Acting as the designated specialist on cyber security information and event management tools for the IT department to provide an expert, specialist advice service, in accordance with national and local IT security policies and best practice; includingdevelopment of others in this capability- Delivering the necessary technical incident response and resolution activities following a suspected or actual security incident or breach. This includes, acting on all cyber security alerts received from external agencies- Collaboration with 3rd parties relating to any cyber incident response- Regular review of relevant IT Security risks, ensure risk mitigation plans are in place and regular progress reports escalated to IT management, or IT Security Manager- Monitoring of network access control and other access control systems- Regular vulnerability scanning and remediation- Patch managementThe successful candidate will have:- Administration and Configuration of Security incident monitoring tools (IDS/IPS/SEIM)- Monitoring and reviewing firewall logs, reports and alerts. This includes web and mail filtering, intrusion detection and prevention systems and malware protection- Ability to quickly absorb complex information and be articulate when communicating complex technical matters to senior non-technical staff in a way that allows them to fully understand the issues- Up to date knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities and sources of informationVenn Group is an equal opportunities employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates.
