Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Programme Manager to take full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful realisation of business outcomes for complex IT programmes. These programmes have a significant business, political and high-profileimpact.Client DetailsA brand you re sure to have worked on working of all sectors including government.DescriptionYou will monitor and control resources, costs and benefits against the programme budget and manage stakeholder expectations. For the first 12 months in the role you will be aligned to the mobilisation of IT for a goverment building. The programme of workswill be very large and complex and you will be managing many dependencies both within IT and the business. These include IT infrastructure, LAN/WAN, SaaS offerings, software development and systems integration.This role reports directly to the IT Delivery Partner (IT Project Portfolio Lead).As part of this youll:

  • Ensure that effective delivery control, change control and risk management are maintained
  • Create, update and maintain the following: - Programme RAID, plan, budget/costs, reporting and provide accurate financial controls
  • Manage the end-to-end programme delivery right through to programme close down
  • Manage the programme team and 3rd parties (where applicable)
  • Maintain maximum probability that suppliers deliver in accordance with the contract
  • Identify areas for project consolidation both within a programme and across portfolios
  • Chair and lead a programme board ensuring stakeholders are kept updated, key decisions are made and the programme continues to deliver to time, cost and quality
  • Ensure appropriate governance is in place for each project
ProfileWhat youll need to do the role: A proven track record of managing programmes in a complex and regulated environment
  • Programme and Project Management certification (MSP/Prince2/APMP)
  • Knowledge of multiple core business functions
  • Comfortable with large amounts of data/information, dealing with ambiguity and operating within a complex environment
  • A developed knowledge of Programme Management methodologies, tools and techniques
  • The ability to communicate across a diverse community of stakeholders to include good networking and influencing skills
  • Lead by example and coach/mentor others where appropriate. Experience in developing, persuading and guiding teams and team members
  • Ability to bridge the gap between the business and IT ensuring both sides understand the needs of the other and work as one team to ensure success
  • Must be capable of obtaining UK Government SC Clearance
