Job Description

Job Type: Temporary Contract (2 -3 months)Job Role: IT Application SupportHours: Monday to Friday between 10:00am until 4:00pm (Hybrid Working)Pay: £12.01 - £14.42 per hour (DOE)Location: BirminghamStart Date: Immediate StartWould you like the opportunity to work for a multi-award winning company based in BirminghamOffice Angels are currently recruiting for a skilled IT Application Support Technician to work for an established and successful service provider located in the Birmingham area. This role is predominately focused on working in a customer facing role to helpmanage issues and queries that arise from the companys current software and in time support the new software systems.Role and Responsibilities include:

  • Provide first and where required second line technical support to all users and help in configuring and building network infrastructure
  • To co-ordinate and manage all IT issues as raised through the helpdesk and look to continuously improve the helpdesk on a regular basis
  • To provide on prioritised technical support and advice across all members of staff within the department and customer
  • Helping to up new users and customers accounts
  • Manage and monitor the IT helpdesk and other support systems
  • Solve technical issues related to software
  • Modify and change database when needed
  • Identify and support the process of problem management
  • To demonstrate a willingness to work flexibly, sometimes outside of normal core hours, in response to service demands as agreed with the line manager
  • To perform such other tasks as may reasonably be required by the line manager
  • Help and support the wider IT strategy
Skills / Requirements needed:
  • Previous experience working in a similar role in an IT support environment
  • Experience of front-line support to a complex application (preferably in a SME or medium size office)
  • Technical skills in resolving problem related issues
  • Experience of working with developers
  • Experience performing application support of an internally developed software
  • Good organisational skills and process driven
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to communicate professionally with staff and customers at all levels
  • Excellent phone manner and command of English
  • Have great attention to detail
  • Efficient work ethic
  • Knowledge and experience in AWS, MongoDB or Twilio (desirable)
  • Willingness to go that extra mile and being proactive
