Job Title: Internal AuditorLocation: BirminghamCorporate Title: Assistant Vice PresidentGroup Audit is growing and moving into new locations, making it an exciting time to join the new Internal Audit function (IA) located in Birmingham! Being DBs Third Line of Defence GA have a high internal profile,acting as an independent and forward-looking challenger and adviser to Senior Management. We are also strongly relied upon by local regulators.We provide the opportunity to partner with all functions across the bank, covering the First Line of Defense including Investment Bank, Corporate Bank and International Private Bank. As well as Second Line of Defense areas such as, Technology or Infrastructurefunctions including Anti-Financial Crime, Compliance, Risk, Finance and Operations.   • Works independently on audits of a specific business / functional area / region. Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to risks within those business areas.
  • Participates in business monitoring and risk assessments.
  • Contributing to quarterly continuous monitoring.
  • Proactively developing and maintaining professional working relationships within their function and stakeholders inside and outside of the bank.
  • May occasionally work on ad hoc projects.
Your skills and experience
  • We are looking for audit and non-audit backgrounds. The key being people who are highly motivated with a desire to learn.
  • Someone with an inquisitive mindset who isnt afraid to ask questions until the process is understood.
  • All audit backgrounds welcome, including banking, accountancy firms and internal auditors.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a high-pressure environment and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Team working capabilities and the ability to build strong business and team relationships.
  • Undergraduate or equivalent degree required, advanced degrees and relevant professional certifications preferred but not required.
