Job Description

Location: West Midlands About Us: Multi Academy Trust Day Rate: Competitive We are partnering with a MAT based in the West Midlands, who is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent organizational skills, andthe ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Finance Assistant, you will support the finance department in various administrative and clerical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of financial activities.Responsibilities:

  1. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist in processing invoices, verifying discrepancies, and reconciling payments. Manage outgoing payments and follow up on outstanding invoices.
  2. Expense Management: Track and reconcile employee expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Assist in preparing expense reports.
  3. Financial Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and maintain updated records of transactions.
  4. Bank Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies.
  5. Assist in Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets as needed.
  6. Assist in Audit Preparation: Provide support during internal and external audits by gathering requested documents and assisting in audit preparations.
  7. General Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks such as filing, scanning documents, answering phone calls, and responding to inquiries.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience (1-2 years) in a similar role or internship experience in finance or accounting.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  3. Familiarity with accounting software
  4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  5. Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
