****Immediate start / Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2022 (possible extension)/ Driving License required****The role of Innovation & Growth Advisor calls for a high calibre, well-seasoned business professional to provide a credible coaching and mentoring partnership to highly innovative SMEs across the West Midlands region.You will bring experience of both supporting and advising SMEs (and their demanding Senior Management teams) throughout various stages of the business life-cycle.This is an exciting and truly challenging role - initiated as part of of HM Governments SSG programme (Survive, Stabilise and Grow) - focused on working with SMEs and innovative Entrepreneurs, coaching, mentoring and supporting them in developing their own strategic innovation commercialisation plans.This isnt a light-level Business Advisor role - this opportunity requires someone with their own experience in industry to draw upon, someone with an understanding of supply chains, new product development (NPD), new service development and an understanding of business impacts on innovation and development.As Innovation and Growth Advisor, your business development and partnership management skills will be finely tuned - youll be able to identify innovative businesses within the West Midlands region, those with the greatest growth potential. Youll develop a portfolio of clients who align with the key objectives and priorities of Innovate UK and European Enterprise Network (EEN) projects ie. "Grow, Scale, Internationalise", by facilitating a holistic analysis of each business, gaining a thorough understanding of its current performance and potential for growth.Funding and Finance will be another string to your bow. Youll have experience of raising finance either through IUK or European funding OR through private investment. An understanding of equity finance and what investors are looking for in a company looking to raise finance is VITAL.Youll be working on an intensive 1:1 basis with innovative companies across the wider West Midlands region (including Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Hereford and Worcester, Shropshire and West Midlands) so a driving license and vehicle is ESSENTIAL.
