Job Description

Job Purpose: As a Procurement Manager, your primary responsibility is to drive the strategic direction of procurement processes and contractual relationships within designated categories. This role emphasizes a proactive approach to strategic sourcing, contract negotiation,and relationship management with suppliers. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the organization while ensuring compliance with Utilities Contract Regulations 2016 (UCR2016) or Public ContractsRegulations 2015 (PCR2015).Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize procurement processes within assigned categories.
  2. Monitor industry trends, regulations, and best practices, with a specific focus on UCR2016 or PCR2015, and ensure compliance in all procurement activities.
  3. Conduct comprehensive supplier assessments, lead negotiations, and conduct regular performance evaluations to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  4. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.
  5. Cultivate and manage robust relationships with key suppliers, fostering effective communication and swift problem resolution.
  6. Lead and oversee the entire procurement process, from needs analysis and tendering to contract management and ongoing performance monitoring.
  7. Ensure strict adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, with a dedicated focus on UCR2016 or PCR2015.
  8. Provide expert guidance and support to internal teams on procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience in strategic procurement and category management roles.
  • In-depth familiarity with Utilities Contract Regulations 2016 (UCR2016) or Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (PCR2015).
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaboratively work across departments and engage effectively at all levels within the organization.
