Job Description

Red Snapper Justice are part of a niche recruitment agency, who provide staffing services to the offender management and criminal justice sectors.We are recruiting on behalf of Black Country Women’s Aid for an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) to work with victims of sexual violence. As an advocate, you will support survivors and potential victims of sexual violence by providing access toa range of specialist services.This is a full time, permanent role, based regionally covering the Black Country and offers a salary of Unqualified - £24,310.04 and Qualified - £26,430.04.To apply, you must possess a full driving license and be willing to travel.Main Duties:

  • To work within the organisations quality assurance framework and ensure we provide a quality service to both victims and survivors of sexual violence and abuse
  • To develop innovative ways of working with victims of interpersonal violence based on good practice and evidence based research
  • Have an excellent over view and understanding of all aspects of domestic abuse, sexual violence and trafficking to be able to advise agencies and clients of services and support available and their referral pathways
  • To develop and maintain a culture and systems that promote equality and value diversity and offer empathy to victims of interpersonal violence
  • Reporting to the Sexual Violence Service Manager & Senior as required and producing regular reports in accordance with an agreed schedule and performance requirements
  • Work within the ISVA - CHISVA team to provide support to both adult and child victims and survivors of sexual violence and abuse, providing high quality, evidence based, age appropriate, one to one interventions addressing and taking into considerationboth safeguarding and individual need
  • Manage a joint case load of both adults and children to include all aspects of case management including, safeguarding, risk assessment, needs assessment, advocacy, support planning, outcomes and case review
  • To coordinate effective multi-agency approaches to intervention delivery, safeguarding, managing risk and need across partner agencies and services, statutory and non-statutory
  • Contribute to the delivery of group programs, providing ideas and feedback from service users into all elements of service delivery and design
Essential Requirements:
  • Educated to minimum Level 3 or equivalent, with a good level of experience in Health and social care.
  • GCSEs English and Mathematics - Grade C or above.
  • Independent Sexual Violence Advisor qualification and/or direct experience of working in sexual violence support is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working with adults, acknowledging safeguarding concerns and responding appropriately.
  • Experience of handling a caseload.
  • Experience of working with families with complex needs, such as mental health and substance misuse.
  • Experience of using risk assessments and appropriate interventions tools to manage and identify risk.
  • Experience of working/liaising within a multi-agency setting with a range of stakeholders and representing clients/organization an external meetings.
  • Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of sexual abuse and their children.
