Job Description

Reed further education is seeking a temporary HPL DET Lecturer in Birmingham who meets the following criteria:

  • Has recent experience in FE teaching, as well as in OFTSTED inspections, working with SEND, and understanding the needs of learners.
  • Shows enthusiasm to follow the quality standards of external regulators for teaching students on the DET programme and academic observations.
  • Holds a master’s degree and a UK teaching qualification such as Cert Ed, DET, PGCE, or QTLS, and has a passion to teach DET students who want to become teachers in FE in a face-to-face context.
  • Is willing to visit and observe DET students/trainees teaching on campus or one of the external placements.
  • Is available for between 10 and 20 hours per week, during daytime hours from 9.45 to 3.15 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
  • Can start as soon as possible until the end of the academic year 2024, during the teaching times.
