Job Description

Uncover an exciting opening for an adept Residential Development Lawyer (around 5 - 10 years PQE) to become part of a dynamic team serving an expanding client base in the housebuilding and strategic land sectors.About the Firm: The Housebuilding & Strategic Land Team, one of the largest teams at the firm, boasts over 30 real estate lawyers across the UK and is backed by experts in planning, plot sales, construction, environmental, agricultural,litigation, and tax. Clients include top-10 house builders, local and national developers, housing associations, landowners, local authorities, investors, and promoters.Role Highlights: The ideal candidate, a Real Estate lawyer, at Associate, Senior Associate or Managing Associate level will bring this experience to the table;

  • Proven track record in representing house builders, promoters, developers, landowners, housing associations, and local authorities.
  • Established client relationships, potentially with a client base of their own.
  • Contacts with leading residential development and strategic land agents in the region.
  • Competency in routine transactions like conditional and unconditional contracts, options, golden-brick, affordable housing transactions, back-to-back sales, deeds of easement, infrastructure agreements, overages, site-assembly, and service charge/managementagreements.
  • Some experience in complex transactions such as strategic land/promotion agreements, collaboration agreements, land pooling, building licenses, mixed-use schemes, PRS, institutional investment, portfolio charging, and portfolio acquisitions.
  • Solid understanding of VAT and SDLT issues.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing transactions.
