Job Description

Job Title: Homeless Housing Support OfficerJob Type: Temporary to permanent for the right candidateLocation: Birmingham - Floating support role - car driver not necessaryIndustry: Social Care - Homelessness The organisation In this Homeless Housing Support Officer opportunity in Birmingham you will join a charity organisation assisting 25+ years olds living in temporary accommodation with housing support. Key responsibilities of a Homeless Housing Support Officer job

  • Dealing with tenancy sign ups as residents enter on an emergency basis
  • Keeping records up to date - managing rent payments - handling rent arrears
  • Carrying out routine health and safety checks - reducing any risk of Incidents
  • Promoting independence to adults living in temporary accommodation - assisting them with finding jobs / going through support plans on how they can change their lives
  • Engaging them with workshops to help gain further skills
  • Working on a caseload of 8-12 at one time
Skills & experience of Homeless Housing Support Officer
  • Proven track record of working In supported housing - up to date knowledge of housing legislation Is required
  • Willing to travel across the area Birmingham if in a floating support officer role - car driver Is not essential but highly desired
  • DBS on the update service or issued within the last 12 months - needs to be an enhanced child and adult cleared.
  • Must be a car driver - floating support role
