Job Description

HGV Technician.£33,000 - £36,000 + overtime.West Midlands (M42 / M6 area). Doesthis sound like the type of company that can offer you the secure, long-term career prospects you are seekingDue to further expansion, an opportunity has arisen for a HGV Technician to join their talented team - whos hard work is always recognised and rewarded. The key responsibilities for your new role as HGV Technician, are as follows:

  • Servicing and inspecting vehicles completely and reporting upon the vehicles condition, safety and reliability (MOT).
  • Diagnosing, observing, recognizing and reporting on vehicle component defects or symptoms of impending failure.
  • Ensuring all service and maintenance sheets, customer defect reports, manufacturer paperwork and electronic documentation are completed and signed off.
  • Interpreting and implementing technical service instructions data, to ensure a component is repaired or replaced, in line with manufacturers instruction.
  • Making the Supervisor, Workshop Controller and Service Advisor aware of any faults that could make the vehicle dangerous or illegal, if taken out on a public highway.
  • Protecting all vehicles under repair against damage and inspecting each vehicle for damage and cleanliness, upon completion of repair.
  • Attending recognized courses of instruction, as and when required, and assisting in the training.

  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the working area and a presentable personal appearance.
  • Always observing the Group Health, Safety & Environmental Policy.
  • Reporting any broken or faulty equipment to your Supervisor / Manager, in-line with the Group Health & Safety Policy.
My client would like to find a time-served Technician, with a City & Guilds qualification, or equivalent. You will also possess sound expertise in diagnostics, safety inspections and routine maintenance, and be an enthusiastic, team player, by nature. DAFproduct experience, an Irtec and HGV license would be advantageous; although not essential.In return, my client is offering a generous annual salary of £33,000 - £36,000.
