Job Description

Michael Page have been appointed to support a Birmingham based charity in their search for a Head of Finance. This role will have 1 direct report and will involve the implementation of a new finance system.Client DetailsA Birmingham based charity with a great ethos and approach towards providing better opportunity and quality of life for everyone.DescriptionHead of Finance duties:

  • Demonstrated senior accounting experience with a minimum of 2 years in a role supporting senior management and leadership teams.
  • Skilled in core accounting functions including financial accounting, management reporting, treasury management, and financial systems
  • Extensive people management experience leading finance teams for over 5 years including conducting performance reviews and appraisals
  • Experience of leading the end-to-end preparation of statutory accounts and all required audit documentation
  • Took ownership of the financial planning and budgeting process, developing accurate forecasts and insightful reporting.
  • Presented financial results, analysis, and commentary regularly to the board and governing bodies.
  • Played a key role partnering with stakeholders across the business to provide financial expertise guiding strategic decisions.
  • Ensured compliance with accounting standards, financial controls, and regulatory requirements.
ProfileAs Head of Finance you will have:
  • Strong leadership abilities with a hands-on management approach and strategic mindset
  • Excellent communication skills to connect with diverse stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive projects, and deliver results
  • Change management expertise guiding organisations through transitions and transformations
  • A relevant accounting qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Highly organised with stellar time management abilities to prioritise critical workstreams and meet deadlines
  • Extensive experience with data analysis and spreadsheet platforms to drive insights
  • Polished presentation style to convey information clearly and effectively
  • Commitment to confidentiality and understanding of GDPR and data privacy practices
  • Professional, friendly demeanour that builds relationships across the organisation
