Job Description

Group HSEQ Manager£60,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance / Car + BenefitsLeading Manufacturing, Installation, Maintenance and Service OrganisationPertemps are retained to recruit an experienced HSEQ Manager with experience in construction, retail, maintenance or services. Working for a leading manufacturing, installation maintenance and service business you will lead and manage health, safety, environmentaland quality systems and related activities within the Group business and contribute to the wider group and its customers on their Net Zero ambitions relating to HSEQ.Paying an attractive salary of £60,000 - £65,000 + car allowance / company car + additional benefits this pinnacle role will lead site audits across the UK and handle investigations of any incidents across the Group including liaising with any statutory bodiesas well as any customer HSEQ requirements. The role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks to personnel, the environment, and assets.This is a key leadership role within the organisation and will involve managing a team of HSEQ professionals in a challenging Construction delivery as well as Service and Maintenance business.Duties will include;" Keep up-to-date with new and current legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all HSE legislation and development" Ensure management and employees are informed and advised on new and current legislation, and support any required changes to working practices to ensure they remain safe and comply with legislation" Develop and maintain the Companys HSE policies and procedures" Report to the management team on HSE matters, with actions and timelines for addressing/resolution" Develop and review risk assessments, ensuring a formal review takes place periodically" Manage statutory testing requirements within the Company, where necessary, and ensure findings recommendations or requirements are acted upon" Ensure accidents and incidents are correctly investigated and recorded, and where appropriate corrective actions are implemented. Produce appropriate statistics for the board and business management teams (KPIs)" Through a team and in liaison with the business deliver toolbox talks to employees" Liaise with relevant accreditation and authority bodies" Lead and develop training initiatives for management and employees regarding health and safety matters" Carry out regular site inspections across the UK to check that policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to" Liaise with insurance provider regarding any civil claims made by existing and previous employees" Maintenance of Companys approval to ISO standards, industry accreditations and achieve accreditation to ISO 50001" Report to the business directors and managers with regards to any internal audits, preventative and correct actions, customer feedback, cost of poor quality and quality projects" Lead and develop training initiatives for management and employees regarding quality related matters" Attend monthly Group board meeting to report on HSEQ and attend other management meetings, as required" Manage and motivate the HSEQ team to deliver all objectives" Undertake all other duties identified by the CEO to ensure the professional and smooth running of the business at all times" Identify learning and development opportunities to maintain and develop skills and experience" Undertake training as and when required and obtain new skills and techniques to support the continuous improvement of the department and the job role" Degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline." Minimum of 7 years experience in a relevant HSEQ management role, preferably within a construction or service and maintenance business environment.Qualifications for the HSEQ Manager" Professional certifications such as the NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety (Both qualificationsat Level 3 equivalent to A-Level) and/or Diploma (Level 6 equivalent to Bachelors Degree), the IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent." Chartered Member of IOSH or equivalent professional body." Working Knowledge of relevant UK legislation and regulations relating to health, safety, and environmental issues." Experience in managing HSEQ programs, developing policies and procedures, leading accident/incident investigations, emergency response planning, disaster recovery planning, up to date risk assessment techniques." Proven track record of achieving HSEQ targets and driving continuous improvement." Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities." Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills." Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills."
