Job Description

Your new roleNational Highways are recruiting for a full time Designer with excellent static and motion design skills.This role helps support the development and delivery of the organisations wide-ranging communications products. We follow industry best practise as we help the company meet its objectives.Designing content for both online and off, supporting communications that address challenging reputational agendas. Managing compliance with our visual identity and accessibility guideline to fully support our communications strategy.What youll be leading onStudy design briefs and determine requirements from internal colleagues and where required, advise on strategies to engage target audiencesIdentify the best ways to illustrate and communicate colleagues vision while complying with design best practices and National Highways visual identity to ensure appropriate communication developmentTake ownership of design project tasks, upholding meticulous creative standards to finish products the highest standard, selecting colours, images, typography and layout for communication materials, including but not limited to web and social media assets,exhibition graphics, signage, brochures, scheme reportsCollaborate with internal stakeholders as part of a team, such as digital, marketing, strategic communications, and business operations, throughout the various phases of a project lifecycle to ensure the end product is fit for purpose across integrated channelsReview designs before printed or published to ensure errors are captured prior to production or go liveWork with the resource manager and studio manager to agree workloads and scheduling to ensure project deliverables are achievedSet up creative and design files ready for artworking, ensuring all files are version controlled, filed to National Highways standards, and backed up appropriatelyQuality control your own work, and that of others in the team, striving to constantly develop, improve and add value in line with the communications strategyTo be successfulSkills in developing creative mood boards, scamps, pitch decks as well as the production of other graphics such as marketing materials, exhibitions graphics, web and social media assetsExperience working to tight timescales and deadlinesProven experience of providing specialist advice and ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audienceA thorough understanding of Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, are essential. After Effects and/or Animate would be beneficialProfessional qualification in a relevant area or at least three years experience in delivering high quality creative/graphic design servicesExpert in graphic/media/information design for digital and printSolid understanding of creative and design processes whether for physical or digital delivery platforms including latest in accessibility guidance for both on and offline productionAbout UsWhy you should join usAt National Highways we believe in a connected country.
