Job Description

Suitable candidates will need to demonstrate advanced numerical capability and show a detailed understanding of relevant coding applications (Ideally SQL but other relevant programming using R or Python would be welcome).The business culture is driven although employee welfare and professional development is a constant focus within the FTSE 500 plc.Selection or responsibilities

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand complex data & reporting needs, translating requirements into technical solutions
  • Partner with internal clients using a consultative approach to understand business problems, identifying the teams key challenges, provide/prototype solutions, and help solve using statistical analysis and tools
  • Develop and enhance existing Data Warehouse structure vis SQL code development and implementation of ETL processes.
  • Develop SQL solutions to integrate data from various sources, including web analytics tools and internal databases to support development of a single source data architecture
  • Support wider departmental data project (visualization / reporting / insight) converting data-based findings and insights into hypotheses to support business planning within the team
  • Selection of skills
  • Recently completed or currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an analytical field such as: Computer Science, Marketing Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Economics, Business
  • Demonstrated experience solving problems with data querying using SQL, statistics and modelling via detailed and academic studies but ideally via projects or prior work experience (internship or industrial placement)
  • Excellent analytical skills, self-motivation and the capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Technical competence and high potential: passionate about developing code to support database design & architecture
  • Skills in data migration or ETL are a bonus and R, Python & Power BI are a bonus for data transformation, analysis and visualization
