Job Description

Gas Detection Service Engineer - MidlandsAlecto Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Gas Detection Engineer to work for a market leading company within the industry, or alternatively an Electromechanical Field Service Engineer with a desire to learn and understand new skills. This position is for an Engineer to cover the MidlandsCompanyOur client has been going for over 30 years now and are respected as one of the key service providers to the Gas detection industry. They cover the UK and Europe as a company, offering a full service to companies, from Design and manufacture, to Installation and Service. They are constantly expanding and their contracts are becoming more prominent within the UK. As a business they offer a wide range of either manufactured, integrated or straight resale fixed or portable solutions that cater for a number of applications typically personal safety (gas, leak & odour detection) and environmental protection (integrated continuous emissions monitoring solutions) within a variety of industries including; oil & gas, energy from waste, power, water utility, petrochemical, commercial/industrial refrigeration and manufacturing.ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Management of allocated sites to make sure all elements of the service contract are carried out in line with customer/contractual expectations and obligations.
  • Service and repair CEMS, Gas detection and emissions monitoring systems covered by the service contract.
  • Provide quality customer service and build strong relationships by liaising professionally with customers when on site, i.e. how problems have been resolved, action taken to avoid further problems, etc. Ensure customers are aware at all times of ETA on site, any potential delays, issues, etc.
  • Accurately record stock usage by ensuring that all parts/consumables used on site visits are recorded using the designated method.
  • Attend and positively contribute to all training required.
  • Seek out new business opportunities - e.g. service and repair work from new and existing customers.
  • Proactively review your work schedule to make sure customer expectations are met.
  • Proactively request training as & when required.
  • Ensuring that strong communication lines are maintained with external and internal Customers.
  • A strong working relationship with the other service engineers is essential to ensure all contracts are delivered within their SLA.
  • Attendance of regional and full team service meetings.
    • Candidate
  • Degree, HND or Equivalent in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge/experience within CEMS/Power Engineering highly advantageous
  • Experience with Instrumentation preferred.
  • Experience of field service work essential
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and manuals
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Must have Full UK Driving License
  • Strong customer service/people skills
