Job Description

  • £3000 estimated average overtime pay.

Are you a Nurse looking for a change Are you a Paramedic looking for the next step Do you want to work in forensic healthcare that makes a remarkable, positive and life-long difference to peoples livesIf the answer to the above is a yes, then this is the right role for you!Here at Mountain Healthcare, we are looking for passionate, determined and resilient individuals to join our amazing teams as Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional.This role is based within Perry Barr.This is an exciting alternative career option open to RGNs and qualified Paramedics with 3+ years post qualification experience.Custody is both a dynamic and lively environment, with no two days the same. The police can detain individuals for up to 24 hours and within this time, we provide a high level of care to detainees and their needs, which can vary from drug/alcohol dependencyto acute medical episodes. Our dedicated healthcare professionals are also fully trained to collect forensic samples which can assist the police with their investigations.Experience within Forensics is NOT NECESSARY As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you will work closely with the Police and receive training and support to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner. Hours of Work If youre struggling to maintain a good work-life balance and are looking for clearer boundaries, then this role could be for you.The 4-on-4-off rota pattern will give you the ability to plan your personal life months in advance. The shift pattern comprises of two day shifts, two night shifts, then four days off.Full-, part-time, and bank applications will be considered. Duties Include
  • Forensic sampling (including road traffic offence bloods).
  • Signposting and conducting referrals; offering support for vulnerabilities and supporting patients to break patterns of re-offending.
  • Delivering substance misuse therapies
  • Assessment & care of detainees and staff in custody suites.
  • Acute disease management.
  • Promoting good personal healthcare.
  • Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify any mental health needs.

Essential Skills
  • Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic.
  • A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience Acute medical healthcare experience.
  • A UK citizen for 3 years or more.
Desirable Skills Previous experience in any of the following would be ideal to assist you in the role; A&E, Walk in Centre, Paramedic Practitioner, Substance Misuse, Community Nursing, Registered Nurse, Police Custody, Prison, or other relevant discipline.
