Job Description

Position Overview Employed as the fire risk assessment manager to manage a team of risk assessors to deliver an excellent fire risk assessment service to all customers through achievement of both company and external quality systems and to act as a key point of contact, and positively influence the customer’s perception of Interserve FS. To oversee and occasionally carry out risk assessments for the company and to follow these up to ensure we adhere to our customer service and increase turnover. To take a co-operative lead in the strategic direction and delivery of the Fire Risk Assessment division. To ensure best practice methods are used in the execution of the fire risk assessments. To advocate our vision and values at all times. To be fully responsible for the quality of service to the fire risk assessment customers and staff at all times. To keep up to date with all current fire legislation & apply to assessments.ResponsibilitiesThe key duties of the role are:

  • Demonstrate an industry leading fire safety knowledge to enable an industry leading and compliant fire risk assessment
  • To achieve all set standards for the delivery of fire risk assessments to all customers and to achieve KPI targets
  • To produce accurate and efficient paperwork at all times to the company standard
  • To maintain a clean vehicle at all times (if applicable).
  • To maintain all issued tools and PPE
  • To deal with customer generated queries efficiently
  • To be able to conduct site visits to liaise with customers where appropriate to the benefit of the company
  • To be able to conduct site surveys and quote for works required by the customer to the company standard
  • To maintain a neat and tidy appearance at all times wearing company uniform To inform customers of fire industry knowledge
  • To collaborate with the head office staff to produce effective working practices
  • To promote Interserve FS at all times

  • To provide error free reports
  • To achieve maximum productivity
  • Must have a minimum 5 years’ experience delivering PAS 79 approved documents
  • Assessor has understanding and working knowledge of PAS 79
  • Assessor has appropriate industry recognized FRA certification and training
  • Assessor is a member of a accredited member body i.e. IFE / IFSM etc
  • An understanding of relevant current best fire safety practices in premises of the type in question as a minimum i.e.
  • Schools
  • Care Homes
  • Residential Homes
  • Sheltered Housing
  • Hospitals
  • Office Blocks
  • Shops
  • Industrial Sites
  • In accordance with choosing an competent assessor the following needs to be understood:
