Job Description

Financial Accountant

  • Location:Solihull
  • Onsite: 5 days
  • Job Type:Full-time
  • Salary Range:£55000 - £60000
We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to support our CFO and play a pivotal role in the financial management of our company. This position involves a range of responsibilities including the preparation of reconciliations, accounts payable, costingmaterials, cash application, invoicing, purchase order releases, capital management, and conducting inventory audits. The successful candidate will ensure that our financial results are in line with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or internationalfinancial reporting standards (IFRS).Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the company’s financials and maintain comprehensive account reconciliations, including cash.
  • Uphold and refine accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare payroll for European countries and undertake HR duties as required.
  • Collaborate with the credit department on new customer credit lines.
  • Facilitate weekly check runs and manage the accounting operations of subsidiaries.
  • Work closely with operations personnel to ensure compliance with inventory policies and accurate product costing.
  • Analyze budget variances and communicate significant issues to management.
  • Conduct financial analyses for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Manage VAT and other tax-related responsibilities.
  • Lead and develop a team of 1 to 2 individuals.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Accounting.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and IFRS.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong cost accounting and analytical skills, with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with a major ERP system
