Robert Walters Group: Public Sector Division - Project Director - Permanent - £92,000 per annum (This is a set salary we cant negotiate) Role: Project Director Type: PermanentSalary: £92,000 per annum Location: This role is based out of Central Birmingham however, there will be weekly travel to London (2 sites) and at least 1 stay over per week in London will be required this cost will be covered by the company for London stay oversHybrid: 1 day per week from home but you will have to be flexible which day due to essential face to face meetings Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA qualified is essential for this positionDuties of the Project Director:* Influencing the development of international financial reporting standards - contributing to debates on International* Delivering allocated projects, this may include projects to influence the development of new or amended IFRS, to assess new or amended IFRS for UK endorsement or to carry out research projects* Projects (unless very small) are usually allocated to a small technical team, which the Project Director will be expected to manage* Duties are likely to include:* Developing a project plan with key milestones and clearly set responsibilities* Co-ordinating and reviewing the work of allocated project teams* Engaging with the international debate including the proposals and decisions, identifying and analysing any issues and concerns, and developing solutions, together with relevant technical arguments to support your analysis* Gathering evidence and assessing stakeholders views on the project and any proposals e.g. by performing desk-based research on the existing material, outreach with stakeholders and other standard setters, using formal and informal means as appropriate. Thismay include presentations to stakeholders* Preparing and presenting high-quality technical papers, discussing them with the project team and Technical Director, and revising them as appropriate, within project deadlines* Developing draft comment letters and draft Endorsement Criteria Assessments for input from the UK Endorsement Board and for public comment* Preparing impact assessments and Feedback Statements, as appropriate to the stage of the project* A Project Director may also be required to act as Secretariat lead of an Advisory Group or working group.* Arranging for publication of documents.The Person:* The ideal candidate will have a relevant professional qualification or be a qualified accountant with approximately a minimum of 5 years PQE although all candidates who demonstrate an ability to fulfil the role will be considered* Good knowledge and understanding of the financial reporting environment for listed companies and a keen interest in IFRS* Ideally, experience in technical accounting work or standard-setting or the ability to demonstrate a clear interest in* The post holder will be required to attend at least 35 stakeholder meetings in person per year in the London office* The post holder might be required to do some travelling abroad for this role depending on business needsIf you are interested in this position please forward a copy of your up to date CV to and applicants will be contacted in order of receipt.Robert Walters Operations Limited is an employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates
