Job Description

Anthony Cole Associates are pleased to be partnering with a nationwide Property/Real Estate organisation that supply essential services to the country.Due to restructuring of the Finance team, they are looking to hire a Senior Management Accountant to join them asap. This will be a challenging but highly rewarding role that will be mainly REMOTE BASED, however the ability to travel to the clients mainoffices in London/The Midlands/The North West or one of the 300 buildings located nationally 2 days a week is required.Overall Purpose

  • The post holder will lead the Management Accounts team ensuring all internal reporting is produced timely and accurately, and ensure monthly management accounts reporting packs are accurate and produce insightful and meaningful commentary.
  • You will ensure controls are followed journal processing and balance sheet reconciliation reviews in conjunction with the Finance Reporting Manager.
  • The post holder will lead the annual budgeting process, provide controls around business cases and RRFs and maintain the budgeted cashflow model.
  • As a member of the wider team the post holder will also be required to assist in other daily finance functions as required and will provide cover in the event of other Finance staff being on leave.
Key Responsibilities Management
  • Manage and lead the Management Accountants ensuring regular 121s, tracking performance and completing annual reviews
  • Ensuring the team are working in the appropriate controlled environment
Reporting
  • Monthly board/SLT reporting including Commentary, P&L, BS, Cashflow forecasting, expenditure, Capital Projects
  • Monthly P&L review meetings with Property Managers/Corporate budget holders.
Budget
  • Annual budget process and monthly/quarterly forecast review
  • Reviewing cashflow forecasting (integrated cashflow model)
  • Maintenance of establishment list, business case and staff changes, liaising with HR
Controls
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations
  • Sign off journals produced by the Management Accountants
Other
  • Treasury Management
  • Internal audit lead
Communication
  • To respond to escalated Management Accounts queries.
  • Communicating to the direct reports with clear direction.
  • Communicating proactively within the finance team and the wider company as necessary.
  • Interacting with other departments as required resolving queries.
  • Interact with our internal and external customers.
  • Participate in finance team events as required (along with other team members).
Development
  • Participate in all aspects of continuous improvement to processes.
  • Develop and maintain a fit for purpose control environment.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the finance staff
Candidate Profile
  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA)
  • Advanced excel user
  • A background within Property Management would be highly desirable, though not essential
  • Evidence of on-going continuous professional development.
  • Strong management, leadership skills and organisational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively and apply concentrated effort to deliver results on time.
  • High level numeracy and literacy.
  • Ability to pay rigorous attention to detail
