Job Description

RM Recruit are working with a Birmingham based Multi Academy Trust to recruit a Finance Business Partner for their team. This newly created post will oversee the Management Accounting team and all aspects of finance planning across the Trust. Working closelywith the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer, the postholder will play a key role in guiding the financial decision making of the Trust and be accountable for the overall performance of the management accounting function to include line management,managing the consolidation and planning of forecasts/budgets and the long-term strategic planning process.The remit will include, but not be limited to:

  • Integrated financial planning cycle responsibility into the consolidated production of Trust 3 year plan to be reported to the ESFA
  • Work closely with Curriculum Planning to align with Financial and workforce planning
  • Joint deputising (alongside Financial Controller) for the CFO where needed.
  • Advise on Academies Trust Handbook compliance, obligations, and responsibilities.
  • Overseeing the provision of monthly management reports to schools, and Trust consolidated to CFO and ad-hoc reports as required by the CFO and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Ensure compliance and monitoring of the Trust scheme of delegation and all other Trust policies.
  • Provide Trust wide consolidated monthly budget and forecast reporting, highlighting risk areas
  • Ensure wider school-located finance staff are enabled to deliver high quality services to academies and ensure best practice is preserved within academies.
This role will operate on a hybrid working model (3 days office/2 days home working) and requires a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA/CIPFA). Academy trust experience is highly desirable but candidates from other regulated sectors (government, housing,charities etc) would be of high interest to the Trust.
