Job Description

Overview: The National Maintenance Network (NMN) is a new business unit being set up within Interserve Support Services to develop and deploy a technical mobile solution. This team will initially deliver services internally, delivering all mobile technical services within Interserve Support Services Business Division. In the medium term the NMN will also look to contract directly with external customers. The mobile technical market in the UK is worth c£9.4bn p/a and has shown growth rates of c3% YOY.The NMN has significant opportunity; c£250m of technical services are delivered by Support Services with a similar value sub-contracted to third party suppliers, through the PSL and through direct contract relationship.The NMN has a significant IT development programme underway, this programme, linked to other deployment enablers will facilitate the successful launch of the Business Unit in April 2018. The BU will go-live with the wider Department for Work and Pensions mobilisation, a new contract win for the business which will rely heavily on NMN service delivery.The Finance Assistant duties will include:

  • Analyse transportation costs by vehicle and region on monthly bases. Create management reports for the Regional Managers to allow costs analysis and control.
  • Asset reconciliation management - Audit fleet assets against requirements - i.e. how many vans are we paying versus required.
  • Calculate OT payments and any deductions due to sickness or unauthorised absence and submit to PPAY to strict deadlines
  • Prepare OT and On-call accruals estimates for month end
  • Carry out audits on selected overtime claims using microlise, timesheets, E-days and communicate findings to regional managers
  • Liaising with ROM’s to keep the overtime levels in line with budget. Understanding and explaining variances.
  • POs in Maximo – general housekeeping – closing orders
  • WIP and accruals calculations - take ownership of WIP/accruals housekeeping on other than DWP contracts – WIP / accruals ageing – WIP / accruals management- regular meetings with ROM’s /Quotes/Document management.
  • Accruals calculations - take ownership of accruals housekeeping on DWP contract – accruals ageing – accruals management, liaising with procurment and scheduling team to close out orders in a timely manner.
  • Analysis of absence and accurate management of sick leave entitlement used and payments thereof
  • Travel and subsistence costs – ensure coding is correct and any discrepancies are investigated
  • SCC sentinel accounts housekeeping - liaise with BSD to ensure that the accounts of leavers and NMN employees transferred out of NMN have been removed from SCC back up and new starters have been included
  • Assist with validating and posting month end journals
  • Assist with month end closure and preparation of MI reports
  • Audit assets within NMN be it IT kit, fleet, fuel cards, tools etc. – develop and implement an accurate method of capturing, management and maintenance of assets.

  • Experience within the FM sector
  • FM contract mobilisations
  • An organised, disciplined, self-starter
  • IT literate specifically the Microsfot Office suite of products
  • Strong understanding of KPI and commercial risks
  • Experience in both Private and Public Sector
  • AAT qualified or working towards finance qualification
