Job Description

Working flexibly as part of the Team, this role will provide efficient accounting/financial support ensuring an effective day to day service of the Finance Department. This role has a particular responsibility for cashbooks and banking areas with daily postingsrequired on IT systems and e banking software and related reconciliations.Support will also be required across other areas of the department for other accounting/reporting tasks.Client DetailsPride themselves in being a modern and well-resourced education centre with an ongoing commitment to updating their facilities.   • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Supporting the FD with monitoring departmental budgets and preparing various audit schedules
  • Supporting the FD with the preparation of the payroll
  • Prepayment and accrual schedules
  • Journal postings
  • EHS Property Services (small subsidiary company)- Preparing the invoices, debt collection and bank reconciliation and dealing with queries
  • Supporting Purchase Ledger and Billing
  • Filing
  • Ad-hoc duties
Profile
  • Somebody who is AAT qualified or nearly qualified even starting CIMA or ACCA or QBE (Qualified by experience)
  • Very good with spreadsheets use and produce pivot tables
  • Able to work independently but happy to take instructions when necessary
  • Committed to the job and keen to learn and take on new tasks in the future
Job Offer
  • Salary £22,000 to £26,000 depending on experience
  • Pension - the school pay 8% automatically if the employee would like to opt in and 1% extra for each % the employee contributes (max school contribution is 14% so EE can put 6%)
  • Hours: ideally 8:30 to 4:30 withlunch
  • Free staff lunch during term time
  • 30 days holidays, 5 days discretionary for emergency, plus UK bank holidays. Holidays are to be taken when the school is closed during half term, Christmas and Easter but we have (out of the 30) 10 days flexi to be taken during the summer break.
  • Free tea/coffee during the day.
  • Possibility to have support with study if we feel that we would benefit but study has to be done on their own time
  • 50% fee remission if the candidate has a daughter between the age of 2.5 and 18 years old (nursery to year 13) (subject to passing probationary period).
