As long as you have a passion for construction and a desire to learn a highly skilled trade, we want to hear from you.About Us:Aesthetic concrete finishes have long been a popular choice for some of the most impactful architecture and construction projects around the world.All too often, however, the aesthetic concrete vision presented at design stage doesn’t translate well on-site and the results of the concrete work simply don’t produce a finish that meets the aspirations of the agreed visual concrete specification.This is where we step in, our team of highly trained technicians travel round the world to improve concrete finishes that don’t meet the architectural vision and would potentially need to be demolished. Our team takes the stress and panic out of the situationshould problems occur but also ensure projects stay on time and on budget, with relationships intact, and a visually stunning finish.Our skills are not just limited to newly constructed buildings, but we also work on the restoration of concrete and stone finishes on Grade I and II listed buildings.The Trainee Architectural Concrete Technician Role:Our trainee programme is a hands-on concrete repair training system that will teach you how to assess and improve out-of-specification’ concrete surfaces.From day one you will contribute to live projects, while participating in a variety of industry recognised construction courses including an NVQ in Specialist Concrete Repair, SSSTS, First Aid and more as well as our bespoke in-house BETOcare training programme.On successful completion of the programme you will be able to:+ Evaluate and report on architectural concrete (and other material) problems by combining your general and specialist remedial knowledge+ Develop and apply appropriate remediation strategies and practical methods to concrete improvement and other materials where required+ Summarise and tailor the communication of remedial strategies to stakeholders, clients and architects all requiring different levels of information+ Manage and apply safe systems of work to comply with relevant codes of conduct+ Undertake architectural concrete repairs in a way that contributes to sustainable developmentWorking Life:This is not a job for those that don’t like to travel. Our projects are based predominantly throughout the UK but 20% of our work is worldwide. You will therefore be required to travel worldwide as part of your role. We have worked in Dubai, Cyprus, Ireland,USA and Australia to name just a few.It is likely that you will spend Monday - Friday working away from home most weeks unless a project is local to where you live. You may also be away from home for up to a month for certain projects abroad. Don’t worry all accommodation, meals and expenseswill be covered.About You:+ A clean full driving licence+ A valid passport+ Passion for construction and restoration+ Hands on approach to work - this is a role where you will be physically improving concrete surfaces+ Curiosity and problem solving+ Work readiness+ Learning agility+ Technical ability+ Communication and collaboration+ Previous work in the construction sector or trades is an advantage but not essentialAll our training programmes and qualifications are delivered in English.
