Are you a Fibre Engineer looking for your next challenge Do you want to work for a leading managed service providerAs a Fibre Engineer, you will install, maintain, and test Fibre Optic Cable telecommunication cables across established and new networks involving external UG Duct and Internal Networks. You will undertake duct and chamber inspections, duct proving and reportcollation as well as site surveys of existing and new client networks.Please note that this role is Field Based and will require the successful candidate to hold a full driving license.About the RoleMain Responsibilities Preparation of the cable for Splicing and Termination Ensuring that all work is completed in a safe environment within a timely and professional manner Splicing Fibre Optic Cable inside the closures Terminating Fibre Optic Cable in ODF Testing & commissioning of Fibre Optic Cable using the required test equipment Providing test results and necessary documentation in line with customer requirements Accurately record work activities and escalate any problems or issues at the earliest opportunityAbout YouKnowledge and Experience City & Guilds 3666 or equivalent Fibre Splicers will be required to have experience within public and commercial environment Knowledge of skills and telecommunications networks Experience working in a variety of Fibre Optic networks Knowledge of Fibre principles / Testing Good communication and problem-solving skills Have a proven ability to understand and resolve difficult situations / issues Basic knowledge of electrical safety Laser safety and use Ability to use OTDR, ILM; capture the results and analyse and identify issues Termination of all Fibre Cables Experience of working with duct prints and job-related documentation First Aid Awareness Competency Card Scheme (CSC / BESC) A documented level of skills and qualification will be required for this role including but not limited to BESC / CSCS, NRSWA 002, Working at Height, Confined Spaces Openreach PIA accreditation.About UsGlide started life as separate businesses delivering broadband, utilities and communications services to different markets across the UK.
