Job Description

The Company:

  • Leader in abrasive technology.
  • German owned and manufactured.
  • £50m company turnover.
  • Established since 1829
  • Family owned.
    • The Role:
  • Selling coated abrasives.
  • 70% via distribution, 30% end users.
  • Distributors are mainly smaller independents.
  • End users are car manufacturers, bodyshops, metal industry (fabricators and polishers) aerospace and wood flooring industry.
  • Customers are mainly small business owners.
  • Covering Birmingham to Yorkshire across the width of the UK.
  • T/O £600k with a target to achieve £1m in 5-6 years.
  • £2k av. order value.
  • 4 days on the road, 1 from home.
  • £28-30k basic, £5k OTE, pension contribution, personal training programme, ongoing personal development.
    • The Ideal Person:
  • Technical sales experience. Doesn’t have to be abrasives.
  • Can have worked for a distributor or have sold to them.
  • Must be able to sell a technical product
  • Have an appreciation of what it’s like to be on the shop floor.
  • No catalogue salespeople.
