Job Description

Specialist industrial manufacturing company in Birmingham requires a Environmental,Health & Safety Manager.Excellent career opportunity within a high investment organisation, part of a global recycling / manufacturing group.36 hours per week8.30-4.30 Mon-Thurs8.30-4.15 Fri + On Call rota (1 week in 8).Reporting to the Site Manager, the Compliance HSE Manager willprovide competent advice and guidance to the leadership team and site on health, safety, environmental, and compliance matters.Manage the site integrated management system within the frameworkof ISO9001, 14001, 45001, 50001, BSEN 15593, FSC, PEFC, MCERTs and the site EPR Installation Permit requirements including fire prevention planning.This includes management of internal and external audits.The role will work to inspire the team to achieve a zero-harm environment and culture, reflecting the company drive to be a world class leader in their field.This is an excellent opportunity to join a sustainable, world leading organisation, offering great career prospects.HSE Manager Candidate Requirements:Relevant work experience in manufacturing and/or heavy industry and constructionEnvironmental Permitting Regulations, ISO 14001, 50001, 9001and ISO45001Policy implementation and reviewAudit & Inspection experienceNEBOSHWorking knowledge of PUWER Regulations 1998 and Management Health Safety Regulations 99Live within 30 mins commuting distance of Birmingham B7This Senior Environmental, Health and Safety role will cover the following:

  • Manage all aspects of the Compliance department, including full time support (Compliance Assistant).
  • Take part in the activities of the Senior Team and be a fully functioning member of that team.
  • Introduce other compliance related systems and project work as required by the organisation.
  • Be on the Duty Managers rota, this involves being on call approximately 1 week in 8.
  • Available to handle all out of hours Compliance issues.
  • Available to carry out Emergency Team duties with the Senior Management Team.
  • Able to travel occasionally in order to take part in group and external conferences and meetings.
  • Communicate all Compliance issues Company wide, whether locally on the plant or collectively at a Team Briefing.
  • Report health and safety statistics in an efficient and timely manner to relevant stakeholders.
Health & Safety System
  • Maintain ISO45001.
  • Obtain and maintain accreditation to a suitable standard.
  • Promote the use of the system and develop the Health & Safety culture.
  • Consult and liaise with the Managers on changes to the system and the effects of the system on the business.
  • Take primary responsibility of; Legal and Other Requirements, Documentation, Document & Data Control (GDPR) and Records & Record Management.
