Job Description

English ECT Are you an enthusiastic and determined individual looking to instil a passion for English language and literature within a fantastic secondary schoolJoin a fantastic and dedicated English department at this ‘Good’ secondary school located in Birmingham. This wonderful school is looking for an enthusiastic English ECT looking to contribute to a vibrant English department.*** English ECT*** Permanent – September 2024*** MPS - £30,000 salary*** Location – Birmingham*** 74% pass rate at GCSE English in 2022The chosen English ECT will be joining the schools most successful department, alongside this you will be working with a dedicated team of English Teachers who will support you throughout your journey as an English ECT. As an English ECT you will be given thetools to creative insightful and interactive lessons for the students to inspire a love for English with the students.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that cater to a diverse range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Inspire students to develop their writing, reading, and analytical skills through a variety of engaging activities and resources.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the English curriculum, ensuring it remains stimulating, relevant, and aligned with national standards.
  • Monitor and assess students progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the English Department and across other subject areas to create a cohesive and enriched learning experience.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in English or a related field.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for fostering a love of English language and literature.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and contributing to the wider school community.
