Job Description

Engineering Buyer required for a well-established and growing electronics manufacturer based in the Highgate, Birmingham area. The successful candidate will be taking sole responsibility for the purchasing of materials and components for manufacture.Engineering Buyer Position Overview

  • Seeking opportunities for cost reduction within the procurement of electrical, electronic and mechanical materials and outsourced manufacturing services.
  • Liaising with the Design Engineering teams and interpreting detailed Bill of Materials.
  • Ensuring stock levels are in line with project requirements, and overseeing the materials planning and flow to aid cash flow
  • Chasing suppliers and making arrangements for the delivery of items such as circuit boards.
Engineering Buyer Position Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a Supply Chain / Procurement position
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally within electronics
  • Based in a commutable distance of Highgate, Birmingham
  • Previous experience working with MRP / ERP systems
  • IT skills such as Microsoft office
Engineering Buyer Position Remuneration
  • Salary £26,000 - £30,000 - dependant on experience
  • Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:00. Friday 07:30 - 13:30. 38-hour week, permanent position.
  • 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays
