Job Description

Are you an experienced Intralogistics professional with proven experience in a role where you are responsible for driving business development / sales performance together with solutions design project delivery for complex, automated intralogistics projectportfolios that utilise AGV / AMR technology- Do you have proven experience in a Projects Director or "Head of Automation" type role that has entailed business development / sales and providing support on the development of concept designs, sales proposalsand presentationsDoes the prospect of joining the rapidly growing Logistics Systems / Automation Division of one the worlds largest materials handling companies in a position where you will play a lead role in their next phase of growth excite you If this sounds like ityou then please read on.This is a rare, lead level opportunity to join the fastest growing division of a genuine market leader and one of the worlds most successful Intralogistics companies in the role of Director of Projects - Intralogistics / AGV / AMR. This is a key role whereyou will lead the Projects Division and will not only have responsibility for the day to day management of the teams but will also play a key role in business development and driving sales performance for the Automation / Intralogistics Division. Based fromhome, your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Leading the Projects Division, ensuring that business and financial objectives are met and providing effective leadership and performance management that will support and develop individuals and teams.
  • Driving business development, sales and sales performance with involvement in technical input, issue resolution, escalation and support (particularly for AGV / AMR & Racking) as well as the provision of commercial and contractual support to business units.
  • Customer facing with responsibility for supporting on concept designs, sales proposals and presentations
  • Identify key market / customer segments to target and secure business growth / promoting new technologies as they arise
  • Promoting cross functional selling and intralogistics sales within the division and organisation
  • Defining and implementing a strategy for the Projects Division that matches that of the wider UK and group business; playing an active role in planning, forecasting and driving the growth of the division
  • Creating and managing the departments annual budget
  • Day to day management of the teams in the Projects Division including AGV / AMR, Project Management & Implementation, VNA and Racking.
  • Developing future proof capabilities of the division in the area of Projects and Automation
Candidates will need to possess a proven track record in a similar Director of Projects / Project Director / Head of Automation role coupled with proven experience of the end-to-end sales process (with demonstrable involvement in Business Development activities,Sales and Solutions Design) and a high degree of experience in Automation (Intralogistics / Automated Warehouse / Automated Materials Handling solutions) encompassing AGV / AMR and associated Automated Warehouse / Intralogistics equipment and solutions suchas ASRS, Stacker Cranes, Mini Load, Conveyors and WMS / WCS / WES software etc.With a customer focussed, fast paced and collaborative environment that encourages innovative thinking our client is offering a highly competitive starting salary plus great benefits package that includes up to 30% Bonus, Company Car (or allowance), 25 daysholidays (plus bank holidays), Company Pension, Life Assurance, Private Medical Insurance and retail discounts.
