Job Description

Are you an experienced and commercially driven People Director, who is skilled in leading from the front, and who can work closely with the leadership team to shape the strategic direction of the business Would you like to join an organisation that placesits employees and customers at the forefront of their corporate strategy and believe in Profit for Purpose Im delighted to be partnering, on a retained basis, with a Midlands-based client who has been established for nearly 100 years, who is seeking a Director of People to join them on a permanent basis. Employing c1,000, this organisation is an innovator and trailblazerin its field, they are recognised for taking the bull by the horns, and with the next 5-year corporate and People strategy about to be written, this is an influential time for you to join their business. Leading, developing and inspiring an established HR team, you will manage all areas of HR including compensation & benefits, talent acquisition, organisational development, change management (including TUPE), employee engagement, employee relations, leadershipcoaching and performance management. The role is highly customer focused and will require someone who is not afraid of change and who embraces the opportunity to drive programs and initiatives forward, with visibility from the board to front-line colleagues. You will develop and deliver a people strategy, which positions the organisation as an exemplar employer and enables them to maximise the performance and productivity of their people. You will ensure the People function provides a lean, efficient, customer-focusedservice which adds value to the business and work continuously with the leadership team. I am looking for an exceptional individual that has a strong focus on delivering agreed priorities and has proven experience of managingorganisational change and redesign. Significant experiencing of leading diverse functions, defining the vision, setting the strategy and delivering operational plans is also essential. An adept negotiator, you will ideally be a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD (or equivalent) and commercially astute. The ability to understand business strategy, plans and budgets will be second nature, as will proven leadership skills; inspire to trust, confidenceto set a vision, with the ability to mentor and motivate others.
