Role: DevOps Engineer (React)Salary: Up to £54,000 + bonus + WFH 1-2 days + moreLocation: BirminghamA well-known financial organisation based in Birmingham are seeking an experienced Front-end Engineer specialising in React to develop front-end a range of web pages and web applications to meet designs, requirements and strategic business objectives.Responsibilities:* Develop and test back-end web applications and business services to meet designs and complex requirements, and deliver business objectives* Develop front-end web pages (using React) functionality and styling to meet designs and complex requirements* Configure and extend development tools and frameworks, build and test tools where required* Use and improve front-end style guides, JavaScript libraries, Java coding standards, unit tests and test frameworks as required* Participate in agile scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, providing estimates and updates for development activity* Working as part of the development team to help understand and shape business requirements* Working with the development team and test team to help devise, plan and document tests* Work with analysts to interpret high level requirements for complex, large scale initiatives and decomposing them into independent stories for consumption by team member* Work in a collaborative, sharing, open, transparent way* Escalating complex challenges, issues and risks as well as proposed mitigating actions* Driving continuous improvement efforts by identifying and championing practical means of reducing time to market while maintaining high quality products* Use CI/CD pipelines for code implementation into on-prem & cloud platforms* Undertake UI testing using automated tools* Work with business analysts to interpret high level requirements and decomposing them into independent stories for consumption* Document design & implementation logic* Develop mobile friendly & responsive UISkills:* Solid working experience of React development & UI design & implementation* Good experience in server side programming would be desirable (e.g. C#)* Experience of using Build & Deploy tools - Such as Jenkins, Maven, OctopusDeploy* Hands-on experience of application development & deployment in Cloud (AWS and / or Azure) & related technologies such as Serverless / Dockers will be an added advantage* Experience of DevOps, CI, deployment & operations concepts* Passion for technology, web design and user experience* Good understanding of cross-browser compatibility and responsive web design* Experience of mentoring or guiding junior developersIf you are looking to be part of a friendly, energetic company then please click the apply now function.
