THE COMPANYA global business with a 25-year history of providing a full-service of technology-focused communication solutions to a variety of businesses within the print industry.THE ROLEThe primary requirements of this role are to support and deploy infrastructure and applications with the SDL Cloud environment. You will often be required to work alone, however collaboration with other engineers and the development team in multiple timezones is an important part of the role.The role also will require interaction with customers during support and application deployment.
  • Approximately 80% of that time spent actively working on issue resolution or deployment. The remaining time will be spent on automation, best practice process and documentation creation.
  • Liaising with clients and suppliers to identify and requirements and potential solutions.
  • Documenting infrastructure and processes
  • Deploying new code into production environments
  • Supporting and maintaining existing infrastructure
  • Managing client demands to ensure maximum satisfaction
  • Automation of regular engineering tasks
  • Providing training and mentorship to other team members where appropriate
  • Attend technical training to acquire more knowledge of technical procedures and applications, and other job demands
  • Remain knowledgeable of current technology and carry out research to identify new trends that can be used to achieve maximum results
It is important to have a good balance of both teamwork / soft skills and your core technical skills. It is also important that you are happy to engage in activities outside of your specific experience and functional expertise when needed.YOU NEED TO HAVE EXPERIENCE IN
  • Significant experience in support IT infrastructure including Cloud based systems
  • Experience troubleshooting production issues under pressure
  • Experience configuring and deploying new IT systems
  • Experience with code deployment tools and source control tools (e.g., Git)
  • Understanding of networking, server, and infrastructure monitoring systems (e.g., Nagios)
  • Experience supporting both Linux and Windows based servers
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Powershell)
THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS DESIRABLE
  • AWS Cloudformation
  • AWS Cloud systems in general
  • CI CD Pipelines
  • Docker
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
  • Ability to meet deadlines, maintain focus and attention to detail
  • Ability to keep things simple and be customer focused while making a profit
  • Problem-solving skills that balance pragmatic technology choices with innovation, to solve customer problems and business needs
