Job Description

Cyber Security Engineer – Compliance and Regulatory Organisation – SIEM, NIST, Cyber EssentialsBirmingham – Hybrid – GBP54,665 + Excellent Benefits PackageMust be eligible for Security ClearanceApplause IT are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join a government organisation in Birmingham tasked with leading industry compliance and regulation.As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures to protect their business systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.You will work closely with the IT team and fellow Government organisations to identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with the relevant security standards and regulations. Your expertise in Cyber Security operations will be used toprovide effective support so that the organisation can be a highly performing place.As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will:

  • Support the implementation of cyber security strategies, policies, and procedures in line with the needs of the organisation.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans, to identify potential weaknesses and recommend appropriate remediation measures.
  • Development and management of the SIEM solution as well as Collaborating with cross–functional teams to integrate security controls and best practices into the development and deployment of new systems, applications, and technologies.
  • On going Support of incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, and recovery, and provide guidance to junior security team members.
  • Assist with compliance with relevant security frameworks, regulations, and standards, such as Cyber Essentials, CAF/Gov Assure and NCSC.
