Job Description

A Compliance Officer is required by a very successful InsurTech business to provide solid compliance advice and risk management solutions and help embed compliance and risk-based activity across the business. The business operates a very flexible approach to working and you can expect to split your time between home and the office.Your responsibilities will include

  • Being an advocate for compliance and Conduct Risk so that awareness and standards are raised and maintained across the business.
  • Supporting the Risk & Compliance Manager by undertaking regulatory horizon scanning and producing a synopsis of requirements and/or changes including high-level impact assessments for the business.
  • Assisting the Risk & Compliance Manager and the Head of Risk & Compliance in providing regulatory advice to the business utilising appropriate sources of information including the FCA Handbook.
  • Providing input into regulatory change projects as directed by the Head of Risk & Compliance.
  • Collating and evaluating appropriate MI to support the Head of Risk & Compliance in the production of reports and/or papers for review by the relevant governance forums.
  • Assisting in the development of the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan utilising the appropriate MI for a risk-based approach to prioritising the reviews.
  • Delivering the Compliance Monitoring Plan
  • Supporting the Risk & Compliance Manager in collating MI for regulatory reporting to update the FCA Connect & Gabriel systems to meet deadlines and regulatory requirements.
  • You will have gained broad compliance experience within a General Insurance (GI) environment and have experience of the various distribution channels involved (Web, Aggregators, Affiliates, Direct and Call Centre). You must have a good understanding of the FCA regulatory frameworks relevant to the GI arena and will ideally have experience of interacting with the regulators. You must also possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Required skills
