A leading independent Insurance Broker seeks to hire a Compliance Manager in this key position for the business to have full ownership of the business compliance processes and procedures.In this key position for the business you will have overall responsible for the compliance and risk function reporting directly to the Board. You will have 2 direct reports who you will manage and develop further as well as having direct oversight for the wider business.The purpose of the role is to significantly enhance the leadership approach, practice and culture to compliance and risk management. You will need to approach compliance from a commercial perspective looking for solutions to business expectations to make things work from a compliant perspective.You will be responsible for the compliance reporting and the development of new products. The business currently work with an outsourced compliance function which assist with compliance activities. It will be within your remit to implement processes and improvements directly without the need to use external suppliers. You will therefore have a large amount of autonomy acting as the most senior compliance point within the business.You will need to be able to display extensive compliance experience ideally within an insurance or environment. Candidates with transferable experience from other financial services backgrounds may also be considered.It is important that you have the confidence and experience to work with key stakeholders to ensure that the business is compliant as well as achieving their objectives and business innovation. You will must be able to provide solutions to issues to make things work well on a variety of levels.This role is based in Birmimgham where you will need to be able to work at least 3 days per week. Candidates will be considered who are currently in a Compliance Manager or Compliance Officer position.
