Job Description

As the Compliance Manager of their Birmingham based facility, you will be given the opportunity toreally impact this site and drive sustainable change.Client DetailsThis company supply an array of products to a vast customer base and are looking to do so in the most effective, efficient and safe way possible. They are in need of a Compliance Manager to support the operation in the next phase of their safety journey.You have the chance to be instrumental in driving best safety and sustainability improvements by working cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders.DescriptionAs the Compliance Manager, you will be working closely with other departments in order to drive improvement in operational safety and you will be liaising with all areas of the business in order to ensure safety adherence. You will be able to lead, drive,coach and inspire a positive change in the organisation and support a culture of health and safety across the business.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines and ensure the working environment is safe and risk free
  • Prepare and develop policies to establish a culture of health and safety
  • Develop existing H&S policies and procedures towards best practice
  • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses to discover causes and handle workers compensation claims
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
  • Act as internal consultant, advising, promoting and coaching with respect to policy implementation and risk management
  • Ensure integrity of and lead the collation and collection of health and safety statistical reporting, training records and assist with the analysis and trending of health and safety data
  • Drive continuous improvement to support health and safety KPIs
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the group
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of all ISO management systems (9001, 14001 & 45001)
  • Develop, maintain and promote internal QHSE processes and policies.
  • Continuous daily management and monitoring of all standards
  • Ensure that working practices and procedures are compliant with legislation
  • Identify opportunities to improve policies to meet regulation and best practice
  • Identify any practical cost-effective solutions throughout the business
  • Lead internal/external audits in accordance with yearly plan
  • Act as a first point of contact for all QHSE matters
  • Engage with key stakeholders to ensure that QHSE targets and objectives are achieved
  • Identifying areas where the business could improve its sustainability practices
  • Participating in site inspections and producing sustainability reports with research-backed recommendations
  • Ensuring legal compliance, keeping up to date with relevant legislation, and advising where necessary
  • Monitoring and evaluating progress, collecting feedback from colleagues, and refreshing policies to ensure the company remains on track for its economic and sustainability goals
  • Designing and coordinating training sessions to update employees on new procedures and practices
  • Operating as a point of contact within the business for all sustainability-related questions
ProfileA Compliance/HSEQ professional with manufacturing or distribution experience and the following:
  • NEBOSH certificate level or equivalent
  • Up to date knowledge of ISO 9001/14001/45001
  • Experience writing & implementing QSHE codes, policies and procedures
  • Proven experience leading sustainability or CSR projects
  • Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to communicate & influence with individuals at all levels within the organisation
  • Results focused with good organisational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrable record of driving significant change through an operation
